A Bit of Inspiration

Earlier today, I asked my son, Sovereign…”Can you spell cat?”-and don’t you know he spelled it!? I responded by saying “That was awesome, Sovereign!” - thinking that would be the end of it but….NOOOOO….mommie! The next thing I heard from him was “Can you spell….?” and he waited for me to give him another word. So I obliged…and he spelled that one too! This went on for about 20 minutes -He playful ran around, until I gave him the next word. This little wonder spelled cat, dog, up, the, ran, sun, box, bat, rat, that, mat, map, sit,mom, happy, are….and a few other words that I can’t recall.
As he spelled each word, I just couldn’t believe what I was hearing. To tell you the truth, I almost cried. I knew that he could use his magnets to spell words (even large words like paramount, Monday, universal, etc.) but this was the first time he spelled words for me. I guess this was his first spelling bee!!! Priceless….
Anytime I am feeling a bit overwhelmed… I either pray or this “little learning wonder” gives me “a little bit of inspiration” by doing or saying something amazing.
I have started compiling the little things we do to help him learn…. and will post it hear soon….may it inspire more toddlerscholar’s… big and small!
