About 8 years ago I read my first book on “Emotional Intelligence” written by Daniel Goleman. How do you manage your emotional moments? Teaching a child how to handle their emotions is a gift that keeps on giving. When children do not learn to handle their emotions- well, just think about that for a minute….what happens when a toddler, scholar or toddlerscholar behaves poorly? What developmental opportunities are altered ? And how does one proactively respond in order to find a true resolution?

It is rather easy to allow unchecked emotions to dictate the next word said or the next action taken. EQ is about helping people to become present emotionally so they can better mange their feelings and improve their relationships. A Toddler and a Scholar are both deeply focused on learning. Considered separately, they are the extreme of each other. Meshed together, they become a force to be reckoned with!

Sovereign and I have been playing Tic Tac Toe a lot lately.

So we searched for an online version that would be challenging and engaging. We found a version that allows you to play against the computer (computer vs. player) or with another player (2 players).

While it is a wonderful introduction to strategic thinking, it also helps to build healthy competition.
